Yes, Pete, everyone ''should feel free to contribute''.
I felt that your opening comments about ''accreditation, poems,
treading water, and being plugged into the wall'' were intended
to discourage contributions on these topics - even if from the
imagined perspective of ''other professions''.
I agree that I was wrong to say that you were ''telling'' others
about what doesn't interest you, but I didn't go as far as saying
that you were telling others ''what to do''. I apologise for
over-reacting. It was all in the spirit of wanting to encourage
contribution - especially on the latest topics of 'goal-setting'
and 'a curriculum of experiences'.
Our primary issues may be different, but please don't assume
this. I wouldn't be surprised to find that they are very similar.
You mention ''important issues unresolved in the formulation of
an adventure facilitation profession''. This is where most of my
clients come from - so it is a real bread-and-butter issue for me
and quite high on my agenda.
The key issue seems to be how people with different agendas
(different priorities and different items) can work together via
this list. It's simple. All you do is join in (or initiate and
facilitate) topics that interest you - and just ignore and delete
the rest.
