I have been using these tests for sevral years now: THere appears to be little link between the symptoms people claim and their H Pylori status. THose who complain most are more often normal! H pylori can be present but cause no symptoms so it is entirely possible for patients to have a +ve breth test but no apparent problems.

Subject: C13 Breath test for Helicobacter pylori
We are about to start using the PDZ-Europa system for breath sample analysis for H. Pylori. According to literature provided, H.pylori is present if the C13/C12 ration basal and 30 mins post urea exceeds 5%. Has anyone experience in interpretation of these results e.g., "normal" individuals who have no GI symptoms but have values > 20.
I look forward to comments.
Thanks
