SCRAN <http://www.scran.ac.uk> is an online collection of
well over 100,000 images and multimedia resources from
archives, museums and libraries, copyright cleared for
educational re-use.
Potential users are invited to try SCRAN out for themselves
on the SCRAN stand at the British Education Technology
Show, BETT 10 - 13 January 2001, Olympia, London.
SCRAN is now available to Further and Higher Education
Institutions for subscription at heavily subsidised cost
through the JISC. Further information is available online at
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/dner/collections/scran.html
Some 75 institutions have taken up the offer of a free open
trial access period, which was intended to run until 14th
January 2001. Several institutions have asked for this
trial period to be extended, and we are now delighted to
announce an extension until 31 January 2001. It is not too
late for interested institutions to participate in the
trial.
