ok, there are some things you can do to fix this. Essentially sendmail on
your machine is putting your "from" address as [log in to unmask]
(logging in as root -- bad!). So there are some things you can do to
/etc/sendmail/sendmail.cf to munge this address.
But first, create a proper user account for yourself on the machine. I would
suggest "laurance". Then try sending from that account.
It will probably work.
If not, let me know and I'll fire up my NeXT and have a look at how I did it
on my machine. Basically, it involves a small rewriting rule that simply
bungs in an "acceptable" From address to all outgoing mail.
