Support for institutions developing a programme for embedding learning
technologies
About EFFECTS
The TLTP EFFECTS project has already successfully supported eight
institutions to develop and deliver programmes in Embedding Learning
Technologies to academic and related staff. These programmes range from
accredited masters modules with a focus on scholarship of teaching, to
non-accredited courses with a practical focus on effective use of
specific technologies for learning. The EFFECTS project team has also
supported a diverse range of institutional change efforts through its
national programme of workshops and regional events and its network of
institutional contacts. The project is nationally recognised for its
expertise in professional development and institutional change. The
EFFECTS framework has now been recognised by SEDA and programmes
developed within the framework can offer participants a nationally
accredited Award in Embedding Learning Technologies.
The next phase
In its continuation phase, the EFFECTS project invites institutions to
apply for a period of focused support and consultancy from the EFFECTS
team. The aim of this support will be to help you initiate or develop
your own institutional programme in Embedding Learning Technologies.
What will EFFECTS offer?
The project will provide a team of consultant advisers from across the
consortium and partners who will offer support and consultancy to your
institutional team for a period of one year. This consultancy will be
funded by TLTP continuation funding and will include workshops, detailed
advice on programme development and at least two institutional visits.
What do we expect from you?
The project is seeking a range of models to inform the development of
the current EFFECTS Framework. In order to be eligible for support,
institutions must:
§ Have in place an Institutional Human Resource Strategy (HEFCE 01/16)
with a commitment to continuing professional development to support
staff involved in the process of embedding learning technologies
§ Have committed funding to establish and support your programme from
your institution
§ Be prepared to work in collaboration with the existing EFFECTS
consortium institutions to share best practice and build a national
resource of expertise in embedding learning technologies
Preference will be given to institutions who are prepared to seek
recognition under the SEDA Embedding Learning Technologies Award
This is not open to institutions who are EFFECTS consortium members or
partners who have already developed a programme.
If you are interested please contact us before the 14 May 2001 including
a short (500 words) proposal showing how you meet the above criteria.
