The CINAHL database includes a Research Instruments field that lists the
scales used in indexed studies. If you search on a topic, such as
cognition, and limit to Pub. Type=Research, you can scan the records for
listings of tests. This can be limited to age groups. You may want to pick
a broader term from the thesaurus tree if results don't include what you're
looking for, as many of these tests include multiple scales that would fit
in one broader concept. CINAHL also includes records describing selected
Research Instruments - search for Publication Type - Research Instrument -
some of these are in full-text in the database, and others have information
on obtaining the instrument.
There are library websites that include user links for other databases and
resources for Tests & Measurements. For example, see Guide to Tests and
Measurement Instruments at
http://www.lib.umich.edu/taubman/info/testsandmeasurement.htm (University of
Michigan Taubman Medical Library).
In addition to CINAHL, Val Rankow, MEDLIB-L moderator, has compiled a list
of tests and measurements sites. I have copied to her and will post her
list with permission.
Hope this helps - Peg
