MSc in Health Informatics
MSc, Diploma or Certificate Part-Time
This part-time distance learning programme provides opportunities
for
health care professionals, managers and IT professionals working
within health care to develop professional skills and knowledge in
health informatics. It represents an exciting confluence of the
information management expertise of the Department of
Information
Studies with specific health applications within the School of Health
and Related Research and School of Nursing and Midwifery at the
University of Sheffield.
The flexible structure of the programme allows study over one
(Certificate), two (Diploma) or three (MSc) years. A range of
modules
are offered covering: Information Management and Technology
(IM&T) in
Healthcare; Communications and Information Technology; Health
Care
Information and Evidence-Based Practice; Change Management
and IM&T;
and Research Methods and IM&T. The programme is open to
graduates in
medicine/health, science or technology and non-graduates with
experience working in a health care environment.
The next intake will commence in October 2001.
