Dear Friends,
Can anyone help me with some information about the current situation
regarding boundary definition between Romania and Ukraine, especially in
the region of the Danube Delta? I just came back from fieldwork in the
area, learning about the challenges of transboundary cooperation in the
field of environmental protection, and was not able to fully gather whether
previous boundary disputes were settled. I suspect that the dynamic nature
of geomorphological processes, with new land appearing all the time,
harldly helps the process... I would appreciate any additional information
on this matter.
Also, if anyone has come across good resources on transboundary cooperation
in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly regarding environmental
matters, I would also be most grateful. I am currently finishing a report
for UNESCO on transboundary cooperation in 5 transboundary "biosphere
reserves" (large-scale areas designated by UNESCO combining protected areas
and local communities) covering parts of France, Germany, Slovakia, Czech
Republic, Poland, Ukraine and Romania and I need to tidy up some facts!
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Juliet
