Dear Colleagues
The Archaeological Sites Working Group of CIDOC (the International Committee for Documentation of the International Council of Museums) is planning to draw up "guidelines for the deposition of archaeological site archives"
The aim is that the guidelines should set out minimum acceptable standards and also indicate best practice. Guidelines which have been agreed on an international basis are being asked for especially by developing countries who host excavations by institutions from a variety of other countries.
The guidelines are planned to cover artefacts, and records (both digital and analogue).
As a first step the Working Group would like to gather examples of existing guidelines or standards. If any list members know of any documents that they think might be useful and would be happy to share I would be grateful to receive a copy (either by email or post or point me in the direction of a web site that I can download from).
Thanks for your help
