[FORWARDED ON BEHALF OF MARSHALL GROSSMAN]
Also, Noam Flinker, _The Song of Songs in English Renaissance Literature:
Kisses of Their Mouths_ (Brewer, 2000). This brand new book discusses the
different biblical traditions of the Song of Songs that came down to the
Renaissance and addresses the impact on Spenser of his immediate
predecessors--notably Baldwin, who translated the Song with commentary,--as
well as more remote souces. Very good!!
