Why not post this one to an Aerospace Medicine person? I've copied it to a
friend of mine in the field.

Subject: Question for you
Hi
Can you help with this query please.
A 70 year old lady had a DVT 3 years ago. She wants to travel to Australia
and has been advised by a friend that she should take aspirin. Is there any
evidence that aspirin reduces the incidence of DVTs in long journeys.
I know about the PEP study published in the Lancet but have not found
anything to do with flight.
Should she be taking other precautions other than the usual
Fluids
No Alcohol
Compression stockings
Aisle seat
Regular walks
In particular should she be on sub cut heparin??
Thanks
Fran
