Could the Gerardi Ma . . . be Gerard Majella (d.1755), a disciple of Alphonsus Liguori and patron of childbirth and infertile couples seeking to conceive? (Feast Day, Oct. 16).

Just now I opened a cupboard in my church marked "Sanctus [sic] Oleum
Infirmorum." Inside were not only the holy oils, but a plethora of
relics. Not all were identified; those which were, were named in tiny
print, and my old eyes are not what they used to be. There was a bit
of "Gerardi Maj[oris?]" Who he? And another of "Bedae Con[fessoris?]"
If that is whom I think it is, I am chuffed to be the custodian of an
(admittedly very small) portion of the Venemous Bead.
The Supple Dean.
