Dear Mr Eckwall
I was interested to read your note, but rather baffled as to how to help
you. I don't off hand know of any web-sites that would help, but there must
be a very large literature on this subject. I will circulate your enquiry to
my colleagues to see if anyone has any ideas about sources.
It is worth adding that WW2 bombing was much more widespread than London and
the east of England. Although the Battle of Britain was concentrated on the
southeast the german bombing offensive included the industrial centres of
the north and midlands, and strategic targets elsewhere, including
Birmingham, Coventry, Bristol and Southampton, among many other cities. So
your alley might be in many different places.
All good wishes, John Radcliffe
