REDUCING CLINICALLY INEFFECTIVE HEALTH SERVICES
How do providers decide to stop offering treatments or services
which are proven to be clinically ineffective? We would like to hear
from international sources, as well as the UK. If you have any
information, or any knowledge of any service reduction in your
country we would like to hear from you.
All contributors will be notified about the results early in 2001.
In particular we would like information on:
1. Serivces over the last 5 years for which a reduction would have
been clinically appropriate.
2. Factors influencing such reduction decisions.
3. Factors affeting success of reductions.
4. Factors leading to failure of attempts to reduce services.
Thank you very much for your consideration and help. Please reply
