An issue paper entitled Copyright and the Networked Environment has just
been published by The Networked Services Policy Taskgroup. The paper
explores what is copyright, who owns copyright, how copyright relates to the
digital environment and how to clear copyrighted works for inclusion on a
website. The paper also provides a brief checklist of suggested actions and
a glossary to key copyright terms. The paper has been written on behalf of
the taskgroup by Sandy Norman, a copyright consultant.
Six printed copies of this paper have been sent to each UK public library
authority and an electronic version can be found on the taskgroup's website
at

The Networked Services Policy Taskgroup issue papers are supported by UKOLN,
