Wolfson Institute Seminar on Tuesday 30 May at 4pm.
Electro-magnetic fields and the risk of cancer.
By Dr John Swanson of the National Grid plc.
For over twenty years, there have been suggestions, stemming
almost from epidemiology, that the electric and magnetic fields
(EMF) produced by electric power systems may cause a variety of
illnesses, mainly cancer. This seminar will survey the evidence,
examine how the strength of the evidence has varied over the years
and what the current state of play of the issue is following the
publication in 1999 of the first results of the UK Childhood Cancer
Study.
The seminar will be held at:
The Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine
St Bartholomew's & The Royal London School of Medicine
Charterhouse Square
London EC1M 6BQ.
Nearest underground stations are Barbican and Farringdon.
All are welcome.
