Whilst I have no evidence for the following opinion I would say with
conviction(!!) that lengthening of the complex is more likely to occur
within the belly of the TFL than any other part of the Muscle-tendon unit.
This is based entirely upon the observation that fascia is supposed to be
inelastic and resist stress without deformation. With this in mind the types
of stretching activity to produce deformation of the Fascia Latae would have
to be extreme in the extreme!

Can you really stretch the IT band or does all the lenghtening occur in the
