Many thanks, Jim. My current interest is late medieval painting (and other
visual imagery) in Welsh churches. But I am trying to put it into as wide a
context as possible (partly to emphasise that it does belong in such a
context - some of the theological implications in stained glass, for
example, are extremely complex.) We have no surviving depictions of Christ
with the apostles in any context, but poetry written about them survives so
they must presumably have existed. I'll recheck the poetic descriptions to
see if they are any more exact.
I used to be wild when I was young. Now I am old and gray. And just a bit
