Otfried,
At least from the perspective of the history of art or architecture, and
maybe also for the history of ideas, the Medieval period is highly important
for many of the world's great religions, including Judaism, Christianity
(both Roman Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy), Islam, and Hinduism. I'd not
think it odd if the broader picture was open to discussion within the
framework of a list on medieval religion. If you're saying that this list
should be limited to the Christian religion in the West, it might be
appropriate to have a companion list that dealt either with Orthodoxy and the
non-Christian religions of the Medieval period or with all religions of that
time.
Also, if it's better for this list to be limited to Christianity, the title
of the list maybe ought to make this clear. When people see the word
"religion" today, they don't necessarily take this to mean only Christianity
or only Roman Catholicism.
