Ambrose, we should note that he pointed out to us that he was citing an
article from the following website:
Aux contraires, mon freres, Fr Anbrose's post neglected to make that clear at
all: there were no quotation marks nor other initial indications that the text
of his post was not written by himself, only a simple web-link inserted at the
end, without comment, which I took to be a potential source of further
elucidation on the subject [until I got around to reading it].
>The website, sadly, does not identify the author.
Agreed, with more curiosity than sadness, however.
>I found the author's ad hominems both worrying and wearisome, although
they do not invalidate his arguments in defence of John Chrysostom.

Agreed.
Though, assuming that these latter are indeed the opinions of Fr Ambrose, I
have to say that the original [annonymous] author's "ad hominems" escaped my
notice and, on a second reading, are still considerably more elusive than
wearisome.
I'll stand by my initial reaction to the text, no matter what its source might
eventually turn out to be. A complex issue properly framed, I thought/think,
therefore am.
Best to all from here,
Christopher
