Case in 1998 from The Bishop's House in Chester of a nineteenth century bird
burial. It was tentatively identified as common canary (although siskin and
greenfinch ref. material has not yet been consulted). The bird had been
placed under a straight sided cup which had been mortared onto a roof slate.
The cup decoration is transfer printed with something that looks similar to
but (I'm told) is not "Willow Pattern".
