Now for something slightly lighter than the on-going quantification
debate!
I heard this on BBC Radio 4 yesterday and thought people may
find it vaguely amusing/interesting:
Apparently, in the medieval period it was fairly common practice
whilst travelling across Europe (on your pilgrimage to Rome etc) to
take a pig along with you. The idea being that you put the pig in
the guesthouse/inn bed, where you were staying for the night, while
eating your evening meal in the effort to provide the bed-bugs
(latin?) with a feed, so they'd leave you alone over the course of the
night.
Feasible, or is this yet another 'red herring'?
All the best, Andy
