This website is worth considering for a minute or so - the Hunger
Site at the UN. Several interesting features, but it is rather sick
overall.
1. All you do is click a button and somewhere in the world a hungry person gets a
meal to eat ("a cup of food"), at no cost to you. The food is paid for by corporate sponsors
(who gain advertising in the process because you see their logo). All you do
is go to the site and click on the donate food button. It takes one second.
However, you are only allowed one donation per day, so you are encouraged to
pass the address on.

2. Statistics are involved in that there is a map of the world, in
which a country periodically darkens to indicate a death from
hunger during the corresponding time period.
3. I suppose one could calculate how many clicks would be
needed to eradicate poverty, sorry hunger, for a day. Of course a
permanent solution wd. require every radical to commit to clicking
once per day, every day of the year! Are there sufficient radicals to
accomplish this?
