Dear Colleagues,
May I request greater care in using subject headers when changing threads?
We are late in developing the proposal on how PhD-design will be used as an
online journal paralleling the early journals, but the quality of discourse
here certainly makes it worth rereading.
To reread, one must find. To find, one must have some notion of how to
locate a topic.
The last few posts were no longer directly about
Subject: Re: The Canon and other questions
While indirectly related to that thread and growing from it, this is an
important new stream on pluralism.
I'd suggest shifting topics when a subthread evolves.
On the one hand, everyone says, "Oh, yeah. I know that. But it's so tricky
and difficult to remember."
On the other hand: YOU ARE A DESIGNER. WE ARE DESIGNING OUR DISCOURSE.
I am asking that we put our designerly skills to work to make our
communication more useful -- not only useful to us, but useful to others
who will join us in the future.
If you have not yet had a chance, please visit the archive:
Go to URL:
www.mailbase.ac.uk
Then hit the letter P
Then, when Phd-design shows up, click.
That will take you to the archive. Once there, a few minutes exploring will
show you how rich and useful a resource this archive is. It will also make
clear why careful use of subject headers makes the archive usable.
Best regards,
Ken
