PROFESSOR/READER IN MEDIA STUDIES at Coleraine Ref No:

The University wishes to appoint a second Chair in Media Studies
designed to consolidate and advance the already strong research profile
which the University has in this area. The person appointed will join an
energetic team of media researchers and will be expected to undertake high
quality research, publish widely, supervise postgraduate research students
and,where appropriate, generate external funding in support of research
activity. He/she will also be expected to contribute to the teaching and
development of Media Studies courses at undergraduate and postgraduate
levels and to undertake administrative duties as appropriate.
Applicants should possess an honours degree or a higher degree in Media
Studies or related field together with an excellent record of research and
publication in any area of Media Studies (including cultural studies, film
studies, journalism studies, media sociology and television studies).
Because of the importance that the University attaches to this
appointment,an attractive salary package will be available to the
successful candidate along with support for his/her research through the
provision of a research assistant and appropriate resources. The
University may also consider making an appointment at Reader level given a
candidate with an appropriate research record.
