Congratulations to all concerned at the DSU on a monumental piece of work.
In response to Edmund's request, a couple of initial thoughts following a
cursory flick through the alpha text.
The Artistic Period class list seems a bit light post C19 and might benefit
from some additions eg: Art Nouveau, Art Deco - not particularly thinking of
architecture here; and perhaps International Modern - definitely thinking
C20 architecture. Going back into the C19 terms such as Greek Revival are
often used by architectural historians. The Getty Art and Architecture
Thesaurus is a good source of terms and scope notes here. Also the term
Renaissance might be included as both a cultural and artistic term, although
it might a bit hard to define in a scope note and is arguably not that
applicable in its own right to our corner of NW Europe.
On an entirely different tack, in the Cultural Period list the term Belgic
should be a UF under Late Iron Age, as the appearance of wheel thrown
"Belgic" pottery is usually taken as one of the markers for the start of
this period in SE England.
