We have a patient in whom our assay (Roche Modular Jaffe Creatinine) consistently returns a urine creatinine of 0.1 mmol/L.
The patient has a serum creatinine of 96umol/L, and and eGFR of 50.
For some reason, the oncologist treating her wants a creatinine clearance measured (normally they would use the Cockcroft-Gault calculation), and keeps repeating in the hope I presume the interference will go away.
I am trying to get information regarding the patient's treatment, but wondered if anyone is offering an HPLC creatinine assay and would be willing to assay this sample for us to see what the creatinine level actually is, and whether they see any interfering substance.
Whatever it is, it is only active in the urine (I presume), as the serum creatinine and urea both indicate the same by way of renal function.
Thanks,
