For those of you who are interested in this thread, the National Gallery
has an exhibition next year entitled 'Seeing Salvation : The Image of
Christ' (26th Feb. - 7th March). The press release reads:
'To mark the year 2000 this Millenium exhibition explores three key
questions:
How has Christ been represented visually over the past 2000 years?
How have artists faced the challenge of engaging the public in Christ's
life?
What relevance do these images have for a modern audience?'
Hope nobody minds this shameless advertising!
best
Chris
