It will not have escaped the eagle eye of the revered list-members that
we have covered the period of Augustine's life in our Threatened Series
(concerned as it is with the deliberations of the Ecumenical Councils)
without once having to invoke his name. One could (and will!) have a
parallel list about the development of theology in the west which had
very little to do with the issues we have been considering.
