RE: Greek/Arabic numeric transition:
The Byzantine ( Constantinopolitan) Church and its Slavic attributaries
have indeed not only never officially altered the graphic ( letter)
demarcation, but has official prohibitions against their usage in "any
affairs concerning the Church of Christ." To my knowledge, these
interdictions have never been removed. But then, ECONOMIA, is , well, you
know...
