Dear Peter,
We have vols. 1,3-9 here, in the original ring-binders with spine titles
and SMS
logo on the front. Thanks to your raising the subject, I see that ours are
not on our on-line catalogue which I will try to remedy. They form a
digestible and fascinating contemporary archive with the diary of war
events in each issue as well as the articles and maps. The editorial in the
first issue states: "It is to assist a proper understanding of the great
events of the day that Serial Map Service has begun". Nothing further is
revealed but to me it has the feel of a governmental initiative.
