process of on-going development, and is currently being developed 
intensively.  Of the following resources, most are already largely in

few months:

* Comprehensive information on world wide institutions in the field 
    (research institutes, university programs, archives, libraries, 
    etc.).
* Information on all (as nearly as possible) of the periodicals which 
    publish on Central Asian topics.
* Reading guides to the literature on various topics and in various 
    countries.
* Key information about Central Asian studies on the Internet.
* Much more: scholarly associations, conferences, book sources, job 
   opportunities, reference works, transliteration standards, etc.

We are seeking collaborators to help ensure coverage of scholarship

GUIDE TO SCHOLARS OF CENTRAL ASIA

We will soon complete compilation and publication of the revised 
edition of the Guide to Scholars of Central Asia.  This resource will 
contain over 2,000 scholars in Central Asian studies worldwide -- the 
overwhelming majority of the world's scholars in this field.

The first edition (1995; second printing 1997) is now sold out, but 
the new edition will soon be available.

The Guide provides information including contact data, scholarly 
interests, and selected publications.  It includes indexes by Country/
Institution and Topic.  Consequently, it provides the best means 
available to find scholars interested in relevant topics, to learn 
about their work and to make contact with them.
