<CENTRAL ASIAN STUDIES WORLD WIDE>
http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~casww/
**********************************

The <Central Asian Studies World Wide> website is a resource in the
process of on-going development, and is currently being developed
intensively. Of the following resources, most are already largely in
place, while some will become available through the site in the next
few months:

* Comprehensive information on the overwhelming majority of the scholars
    in the field world wide.
* Comprehensive information on world wide institutions in the field
(research institutes, university programs, archives, libraries,
    etc.).
* Information on all (as nearly as possible) of the periodicals which
    publish on Central Asian topics.
* Reading guides to the literature on various topics and in various
    countries.
* Key information about Central Asian studies on the Internet.
* Much more: scholarly associations, conferences, book sources, job
opportunities, reference works, transliteration standards, etc.

We are seeking collaborators to help ensure coverage of scholarship
in all fields and in all parts of the world. For more information,

GUIDE TO SCHOLARS OF CENTRAL ASIA
*********************************

We will soon complete compilation and publication of the revised
edition of the Guide to Scholars of Central Asia. This resource will
contain over 2,000 scholars in Central Asian studies worldwide -- the
overwhelming majority of the world's scholars in this field.

The first edition (1995; second printing 1997) is now sold out, but
the new edition will soon be available.

The Guide provides information including contact data, scholarly
interests, and selected publications. It includes indexes by Country/
Institution and Topic. Consequently, it provides the best means
available to find scholars interested in relevant topics, to learn
about their work and to make contact with them.

Information about the price and how to order will be available in the
next few weeks. If you would like to be sent this information, contact
us at: mailto:[log in to unmask], or: Harvard Forum for Central
Asian Studies, 1737 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A.

If you should be listed in the Guide to Scholars and have not
submitted your information yet (since we began this process in
Jan. 1998), we will still be able to include your information if we
receive it by Sept. 30, 1999. For a copy of the questionnaire which
must be submitted, write to us at: mailto:[log in to unmask]
Or, please submit your information online at:
http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~casww/Guide_to_Scholars_Qu.html

Eventually, there will be an electronic version of the Guide, enabling
you to find relevant scholars via the web. For updated information on
Guide ordering and access to the electronic version, visit:
http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~centasia/Guide_to_Scholars.html
