Dear Learned Ones: In the 15th c. manuscript I'm working on, there is a
quote which the annonymous writer attributes to Augustine's City of God.
However, I can't find it in the PL and Cetedoc. Can't find it in books
XXI-XXII of the City of God (which deal with the fire of hell). ANY HELP AS
TO THE SOURCE OF THIS PASSAGE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED! Here it is: Si
ignis iste temporalis omnia corpora lucida et decora deturbat et denigrat
quantum magis ille ignis infernalis turpis et obscuris. Thanks, Marijim
Thoene
