EARL is pleased to confirm the details of its forthcoming seminar. There are a limited number of places still available.
BUILDING THE UK ELECTRONIC LIBRARY
The UK Electronic Library will act as the national gateway to the New Public Library, providing electronic content and services relevant to the needs of users. It will make innovative use of networking tools, and enable access to the unique resources of public libraries.
Phase one of the project has focussed on developing the potential of three key strands: An Internet resource guide for public library users, a guide to special collections in public libraries, and an online enquiry service.
This free half day seminar will present the results of the research so far, show directions for future development, and give an opportunity to view the prototype website.
Those who have already expressed interest have been sent details separately.
