Can anybody help/share experience?
We don't (currently) charge for or filter public Internet Access, pending
further review and better network control of Internet access. As a result we
restrict access to those aged 18 or more.
However, we're thinking of changing policy to allow access to anyone providing
that those under 16 are supervised by a "responsible adult" who is a registered
member of the library.
BUT, this leaves us with a problem of those aged 16-17, who we believe would
object to, or be put off using the service by such supervision. This could
potentially alienates a portion of our user base
We wouldn't issue an 18 category Video to same, but we don't have that
categorisation option on the web (rating systems such as RSACI etc.not
withstanding) - so what to do?
I don't recall seeing this *specific* issue discussed before on the list. If it
has, apologies, and please tell me (gently!) where/when.
Many thanks in anticipation
John
