To All:
Within the families of Eastern Christianity, despite many local
cultic variant practices, there is a common time__ Great and Holy
Thursday__ set aside for the liturgical preparation ( under the leadership
of the regional Patriarch, Metropolitan, Exarch, or other such
plenipotentiary) of the Myrrh to be used and dispensed to the local
communities for next year. Is there a common litrugical time for this
preparation in the Latin West? I thought I had answered this question for
myself ( ie: through Nile;, Baumstark ), until recent encounters with
varying dates in varying regions set me to question?
Any help out there?
