Photo Archive
Recently a number of listmembers have made enquiries about places which
are not far from where I live. Karen Jolly, for example, has mentioned
Escomb, while another member has asked about Savigniac houses, of which
Byland is a local example. It happens that I possess a digital camera,
with which I have already taken pictures of some of these places: the
other week I was at Lastingham, Hovingham and Rievaulx, and took a
number of pictures. I often pass Byland Abbey, and occasionally visit
Fountains and Jervaulx, not to mention St Mary's Abbey here in York.
By means of the said digital camera, it would (if thought desirable) be
possible to set up a photo archive for this list. Members could then
be referred to the archive to download and print off photos, to adorn
(with due acknowledgement) their essays, theses, books and articles.
Is there any interest in such an archive? I should say I am the least
technologically sophisticated person in the world, but I dare say
advice could be procured as to how to do this thing.
The Supple Doctor.
