In brief, street parties are usually organised to reclaim people's life
against the mushrooming of cars in public spaces and the polution(s) it
brings. It can be also a way of socialisation without money as medium
(unlike pubs or clubs). There are a few street parties every month
around Britain, if you are interested in knowing more you can always
participate. The on-line magazine Schnews (or web pages linked to it) can
provide you the information you may need.
Have a nice dancing!
