This is true! I was very amused, some twenty-five years ago, on taking up
farming, when a German friend exclaimed "oh, so you are going to be a
peasant!"
Peasant or Bourgeois? I certainly think I prefer being classed with the
former (but how I sometimes hanker after a first-floor flat in Edinburgh!).
Pagan: certainly - but I find the notions and habits of the citizens so
curious!!
