There is no doubt that the Arles record is faulty (to say the least!), but it
is just possible that 'Eboracum' may have originally meant 'estate of
Eborus', so it may well have been a personal name and not just the result of
scribal error.
As to 'Sacerdos', this does seem to appear as a personal name: Duchesne
(Fastes episcopaux de l'ancienne gaul) lists two bishops Sacerdos, one of
Lyon and one of Limoges. However, I do seem to remember reading somewhere
that 'Sacerdos' on some early inscribed stones indicates 'bishop' rather than
'priest'.
