Thanks to all who responded to my original enquiry: I have been away for a
few days and so was unable to reply sooner.
It would have been exciting to find evidence for the cult of St Kentigern
earlier than the 12th century but, as I suspected, it looks as though this
saint only became recognised after David I's "reform" of the diocese of
Glasgow. Hard evidence for this diocese or the cult of St Kentigern before
this date seems to be simply non-existent (unlike his "godfather" St Serf who
at least appears in the so-called "Reims Litanies" of the tenth century).
