I am intrigued by the comparison of saints' lives with 'heroic' lives.
But I also wondered.... There was an intriguing study of Mark's Gospel
recently (well, within the last 20 or so years) one of whose main
arguments was the the narrative structure of Mark was modelled on the
Elijah-Elisha cycle in Kings, especially the Elijah section. Is there
any evidence that this prophetic (and heroic) cycle influenced the
telling of saints' lives in the MA?
