Introducing three physiotherapy clinical practice guidelines
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is committed to providing and
disseminating evidence based information.
The CSP Endorsement Panel has endorsed three sets of evidence based,
clinically applicable, practice guidelines, which have now been published.
Readers can be confident in the quality of the development process and
recommendations made, because these guidelines have passed the Society's
rigorous endorsement process, which is based on the Appraisal Instrument for
Clinical Guidelines (Cluzeau F, Littlejohns P, Grimshaw J, Feder G, St
George's Hospital Medical School, London, UK, May 1997. ISBN 1 8981 8311 2).
The guidelines are:
1. Guidelines for the management of soft tissue injury with protection,
rest, ice, compression, and elevation (PRICE) during the first 72 hours
(cost = £5.00 sterling)
2. Physiotherapy guidelines for the management of osteoporosis (cost = £5.00
sterling)
3. A clinical guideline for the use of injection therapy by physiotherapists
(cost = £4.50 sterling)
All three are available from the Professional Affairs Department of the CSP:
