We have recently developed and implemented a clinical information
database in our Intensive Care Unit. The elements of the database
were chosen based on specific operational and research
questions. However, there are a number of these questions and not
all need to be answered regularly.
We capture: demographic information (origin, destination,
mortality), diagnoses (underlying, primary admitting, other
admitting, and ICU acquired), complications, procedures, and all
input variables to calculate APACHE II, MPM 24, SAPS II, PIM, PRISM,
MODS, and TISS scores.
I am interested to learn what others report regularly or would like
to report regularly given the variables listed above.
Thank you, in advance, for your input.
