The MIDAS Open Forum (1st July, Manchester) this year has
two sessions of particular interest:
In the morning, a presentation:

The purpose of the MIDAS Open Forum is to bring together
those interested in all aspects of the MIDAS service, to
give presentations and information about current and future
developments and to provide users with an opportunity to
provide feedback about the services.
There is no charge for attending the event which is open to
all MIDAS users, support staff, librarians, researchers etc.
The morning session begins at 10.30 and will include the
following presentations:
1. Current and Future MIDAS service developments
Announcement of new service name: MIMAS
2. ISI Web of Science® - JISC Services in the 21st Century
3. Overcoming barriers to the use of the Census through
interactive visualization
4. Ordnance Survey digital maps and data at your
fingertips
5. NESLI: The National Electronic Site Licence Initiative
6. CROSSFIRE for all!
In the afternoon there will be 3 parallel sessions each
lasting about two hours:
I: Ordnance Survey digital map data and new interfaces
to Census area statistics
II: Bibliographic/electronic journal services
III: For MIDAS representatives: User management tools
The MIDAS User Group meeting will follow at 3.45pm.
A reception to launch the new service name will be held at
