An idle thought...
I would tend towards Chris Rust's view that context is all there is,
but perhaps add that it is useful to look at things (when there is a
job to be done, or a theory to be proposed) in terms of the system of
interactions taking place - so system boundaries, overlaps, limits
of knowledge & action, etc. can be useful starting points.
A second one....
It is useful and humane to have some ambiguity and fuzziness in the
language, alongside closely defined words - in order that you may be
precise or fuzzy according to the requirements of the situation, the
person, the limits of your knowledge, etc.
