Call for Papers for Kalamzoo 2000
Peregrina Publishing Co. has submitted proposals for four sessions
at Kalamazoo 2000. Pending approval of the Conference Committee, we hope
to sponsor 3 related sessions on the 'Enclosed Garden':
i) The 'Hortus conclusus': image and symbol in medieval spiritual
texts
(Org. Lara Hinchberger, University of Toronto/Peregrina Publishing

ii) The 'Hortus concluss': image and symbol in medieval and
Renaissance art
(Org. Sarah King-Head, Peregrina Publishing Co.)
iii) The 'Hortus conclusus' in medieval commentaries on the Song
of Songs
(Co-sponsored by the Society for the Study of the Bible in the
Middle Ages. Org. E. Ann Matter, University of Pennsylvania/Society for
the Study of the Bible in the Middle Ages)
PLUS one session on the holy women of Liege, which will be related
to the lives we publish:
The Holy Mothers of Liege and their Biographers: Saintly
Subjects in the 13th century
