Dear Henry,

Per Jakez Helias]. --

Physical description:394, [5] p., [8] leaves of col. plates : ill. ; 26 cm.
Bibliography note:Bibliography: p. [396]-[397]

Personal author:Helias, Pierre Jakez.

Holweck covers an astonishingly broad range of saints' names and I think
you will find it invaluable as a tool for tracking down some of the
obscurer ones. It is still in print in the U.S. Perhaps your library would
be prepared to buy a copy? (It is a bargain at US$82, hardcover, published
by Omnigraphics.)
The Dictionnaire des S.B. is presumably by Helias, as indicated above, but
it nowhere says this explicitly in the text. There is also an earlier
edition (but with identical pagination) published by Tchou in 1979. Both
appear to be out of print. The Dictionnaire includes a bibliography of 19
titles, most focussing quite specifically on Breton folklore and
hagiography, which I would be glad to send you offlist if you think it would
be useful to you.
On the Lantiern question I have drawn a blank. The only thing I can
suggest is that Lantiern is an alternative (older?) name for Landerneau,
the original patron of which, Saint Ternoc, had a name with a variety of
different alternative spellings. The Dictionnaire includes among variants:
Ternew, Terneo and Terne. He is apparently the same figure known also, as
you suggest, as Tighernach (Ireland) and Teyrnog (Wales). Perhaps
Landernau, or some smaller habitation in its vicinity, is the place you
are looking for. This is, however, a long shot. Maybe someone else on the
list can offer something more definite.
Best wishes,
Martin Howley
