GEOSCIENCE 2000
17-20 April 2000; Manchester, England
This third Biennial Conference of the Geological Society (London)
aims to bring together the UK geoscience community, and to provide a
platform for cutting edge Earth science and discussions of topical
issues in a multidisciplinary and international context. The
conference will comprise about 30 symposia plus workshops, covering
a wide range of geoscience topics. Some of those sponsored by TSG
have been billed already on this Geotectonics list. This notice
serves first to advertise this large meeting to the international
structure and tectonics community, with contact information; and
secondly, is a first call for contributions to one of of the TSG-
sponsored symposia: "Modelling in Structural Geology".

MODELLING IN STRUCTURAL GEOLOGY
In this one-day symposium, we aim to unite the different methods and
scales of modelling in structural geology and tectonics. We welcome
contributions on the following:
Theoretical modelling of geological structures and deformation
Numerical modelling including finite-element analyses
Analogue models of basins and faults, such as sand-box models
Deformation experiments using a variety of analogue materials and
scales
See-through models of microstructures
